Welcome to Balanced Bubs
I’m Laura, the founder of Mindful Mentors, and I’ve spent over 15 years working with children and young people. Supporting their growth, wellbeing and confidence genuinely feels like my life’s purpose.
Before creating Mindful Mentors, I worked as a Childcare Centre Director for many years. I loved my role, but I also saw a growing need for deeper, more individualised support — especially for children experiencing adversity, disability, emotional overwhelm or social challenges. When the NDIS was rolled out, I remember feeling hopeful that families would finally have access to the support they deserved.
In 2025, I followed my calling and started Mindful Mentors. It began with children’s yoga, social groups and wellbeing programs, but it quickly expanded into something much more meaningful. Families were looking not just for movement, but for emotional support, routine building, sensory strategies, confidence development and someone who could gently walk alongside their child in a therapeutic, relationship-based way. That natural evolution shaped Mindful Mentors into the warm, movement-focused wellbeing service it is today.
Throughout my career, I’ve supported children and young people with disabilities, trauma backgrounds, anxiety, behavioural challenges, emotional dysregulation and diverse learning needs. Helping them feel safe, capable and confident is something I care about deeply — not only professionally, but personally. I come from an adverse background myself, and my own journey with counselling, goal-setting and wellbeing practices completely transformed my life. I truly believe that growth is possible for every person, and that with the right support, we all have the capacity to create our own reality and move towards the life we want. This belief is at the heart of everything I do.
I’m a bachelor-qualified Early Childhood Teacher, a qualified Counsellor, a trauma-informed practitioner and a trained children’s movement instructor. My approach blends movement, motor-skill development, sensory awareness, gentle counselling-style conversations, emotional regulation tools and practical life-skills support. I work slowly, warmly and relationally — meeting each child exactly where they are and building trust at their pace.
Alongside 1:1 support, I also consult with kindergartens and early learning services, helping teams create nurturing, trauma-aware and emotionally safe environments for children.
Mindful Mentors is a space where children can feel understood, supported and empowered.
A place where movement becomes a tool for regulation, where conversations feel safe, and where confidence grows naturally through connection.
What started as kids yoga has evolved into something far deeper — a heart-led practice grounded in wellbeing, emotional growth and the belief that every child deserves to feel capable, confident and truly seen.
